This Presidents Day , lets enjoy building and operating this massive 2-in-1 Bucket Wheel Excavator, the largest LEGO® Technic set to date! This awesome, meticulously detailed reproduction of a real-life mining excavator comes with a cool dark-blue and yellow color scheme and an array of authentic features and functions, including hand-railed walkways, huge tracks and a detailed cab. Switch on the included Power Functions motor and you can activate the conveyor belts, rotate the massive superstructure and maneuver the colossal machine into position. Then activate the boom to lower the gigantic, digging bucket wheel and convey the mined material to the waiting mine truck.
Yesterday, when we working with our little Builders design LEGO Helicopters, we had our Master Builders visit The Haskell Company, a design-build industry leader. It was an enthralling experience of realizing what LEGO Building and FIRST competitions can lead to. LEGO Building has opened many many doors of opportunities for all of us .
Amazing to see the young kids, confidently explaining their design work to some big shots in town like Mr. Dave Balz, Vice President and CIO of Haskell and Dr. Nikolai P. Vitti, Superintendent of Duval County Public Schools (DCPS) in Jacksonville, Florida.
With the right involvement of parents (Amy Yara), cool Mentor (Mark Mccombs of Renaissance Jax) , hard working kids ( Joshua and Nathan ) and coach (Kalai Sankar) greater success is not very far away !
Kids learning about Pollinators. They created their own pollinators like bees, bugs, beetles, wasp, humming bird, butterfly etc..What created the buzz was adding sensors to their models to detect the pollinator when it hovers over the flower. Bliss of hands-on learning !
Toda, when we first came in class then we discussed what we did last week. Some continued to work on what they did last week and some just worked on new missions. Some kids also broke some robots to build a new one. They did the programming as well.
